I need help with Ruby to get her house trained by the 31st decemeber (shes getting her jabs)
i want to know how to train her so she dont do her pee and poo on the carpet and instead use the paper that ive put down for her, i put it down in different areas and she seems to prefer to go toilet on the carpet.
can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Get rid of the paper and put her out in the garden evry hour or so. When she goes outside praise, praise, praise.

She will still have the occasional accident, but she'll get there.

I agree with nikki, i never used the paper training at all just put the dog out every half or so and lots of praise when they go, they soon learn dogs dont like messing and don't discipline if there is an accident, just clean the area several times remove the smell, also they learn quicker if kept in a cage when sleeping because they won't mess in there own bed area

yea i also never used pads i think they can confuse some dogs. Take her out every hour or even half hour and stay outside with her till she goes then say "wee wees" or whatever word u want her to recognise and give her a tasty treat and lots of praise! She'll be fine! x

Why particularly do you need her house trained by the end of December? Why the pressure?

She's a young pup, and even once she knows what to do she's likely to have the odd accident.

I use citronella oil to repel my pup from going to the toilet on my carpets. dogs don't like the smell so now if she has an accident she will go on the tiles. which is better than ruining my carpets
