allergic reaction Empty allergic reaction

We are at shell island camping and yesterday troy had a bad rash on his belly and inside legs so we had to have a trip to a vets we have never been to was going to come back home to my vets but 2 and half hrs away the nearest was 45 mins so went there Sad He's had an allergic reaction to something so he's got some steroid cream and im £50 lighter .....now the fun on working out what caused it Sad

Have you changed food recently or used a different type of shampoo or laundry detergent? If not it is most likely enviromental.

thanks kathy ill have a read through Smile i have changed his food about a week ago but i dont think its that as the rash came very quick 5 hrs was very red so im thinking enviroment what do u think ??

Tbh I'd have given him a piriton tablet & seen if it reduced before taking him to the vets. I really don't like steroid creams unless they're really essential.

Hope he's back to normal soon!

I just panicked caryll as it was really red and blotchie its still abit red tho think we might have to go home early Sad do u think giving him a piriton now is a good idea i aint got any scales to weight him ect tho so wouldnt know how much to give him grrr

I wouldn't if you're using the steroid cream - I don't know how it would react. Sad

It's safe to give up to one tablet, twice a day. I'd start with half & if it doesn't work, step it up to one. If that doesn't work then the vets.

ive nealy run out of the cream as they only gave us a small tube so ill go out and get some to start him on tomoz as he will have the last of the cream on tonight thank you so much for the advise Smile
