Pain Threshold
We all have a pain threshold - high or low. It's that point where we recoil because the pain gets too bad.
Dogs have a threshold too. Some, like a toy poodle will yelp & limp from a mild knock - a low pain threshold. The stafford won't. He won't even feel it till it's really bad, and even then he'll sometimes try to ignore it - a high pain threshold. An injury that would make another breed limp, the stafford won't feel. An injury that makes another breed not put weight on a limb will make a stafford limp a little. But the injury is just as bad!
Get to know your dog - know when he's acting a little careful so you can watch him & make sure he hasn't injured himself.

Re: Pain Threshold
yes very true caryll, but patience in any dog can only be stretched so far, this is why the staffs stands out over most breed of dogs, as they have a far more endurance than many breeds and greater tolerance to pain before they reach breaking point.

Unfortunately, the rules don't apply to the pain in your backside! You obviously have a very low pain threshold.............
P.S. If you take your nose out of her backside you'll find it doesn't stink so much. :-&
