So I'm giving up smoking ..

Well, I'm trying. I did it once, I know I can do it again.

Not smoked today, although I have been going out with my smoker pal on break times to test myself. Kinda feeling a bit sick and I think that's through a bit of withdrawel !

Anyway, hitting back at the gym tomorrow if I'm gonna quit the stink !

I don't like my smelly breath in the morning, I also value my teeth and I would HATE for the smoking to eventually decay them, my teeth are probably the most imprtant thing for me to groom, lol. Also my skin, I'm always paranoid about the skin on my face and I'm hoping my skin will look better when all the toxins are spat out of my system, I've just started taking Evening Primrose Oil Tablets too.

So my mate in work says i'll cave in by thursday, my boss doesn't think I'll succeed. I live with my parents who smoke.

So anyway, let's do this thing !

Nope, not sure how they can help ? I gave up on willpower the last time and gave up for 8 months !

I dunno. I've never smoked, so it's hard for me to know how to help, but on another forum I post on there are a few who have given up & they get a lot of moral support from the non-smoking support forum.

Could be helpfull. I'm down to a cigarette or two with my coffee in the morning and 2 or 3 cigars a week if I am drinking but since I don't inhale I don't really count thoose.

get some patches ans plenty of sweats make your month that sore u dont want to smoke that work for me i have pack up for over 2 years now

I might go up the docs in the morning to get the patches to help for a bit.

Good luck! Im off them now dunno how long, i don't count because counting makes me think about them. I honestly just don't think about them - i find that the easiest way. Obviously its easier said than done. I suppose i have thrown myself into other hobbies though which is distracting me. So get a hobby that you really need to think about!

My mum tried the pill and it made her sick as hell! Think everyone who tried it said the same thing, really bad nausea. Shes now on the e-ciggy which is basically just nicotine and water steam. Shes off "ciggarettes" for 2 nearly 3 years now, but her e-cig is her new addiction.

I gave up year before last when I moved up to Scotland, my ex at the time didn't smoke so that was a great help, I wasn't around anyone who smopked either ... I gave up for 8 months, all on will power ! Then I moved back home, back into a smokers house hold, and started gradually again .. wish I never took it up !

will power is all you need cant see the point of taken tab nicotine out only to add it else were you need to make a complete break from the nicotine and find something else to do with your hands and your mouth(and get the dirty thoughts out your mind lol)i didnt mean that

Never known anyone that has gotten sick from the pill just a little loss of sleep and strange dreams. Could be different pills though

Zaiban I heard was the pill that wasn't so good for users. I think there was another one also ..

Not sure of the name but one of my bosses was a 2 or 3 pack a day smoker for over 30 years. He went on the pill and was a bit of an a## for a week or so and hasn't touched a cig in over 8 months.

Will support you all the way. If you go to the doc ask about Champix. It is relatively new on the market with almost no side effective and is very effective with the cravings. After 3 days all the residual nicotene has left your system.

2 bloody weeks to see a Doc !!!!! So should I smoke until then ??

Good luck Maria. I gave up on Mothers day (18th March) 'cus my daughter bought me an e-cigarette! I was smoking between 20-30 fags a day and can honestly say I don't even want one now just have a puff on my e-cig when I get a craving...better than patches or tablets for me and believe me I've tried the lot!!

My colleague has this e-fag as well. So what IS going into your body when you are puffing on that ?

Good luck Maria, just think of all the money you will save. Try to think of something to put the money towards that you have always wanted to do or buy, maybe a treat for yourself, anything to focus the cash on. This should be a good motivator.

Only dont leave the money in the machine in the shop when buying shoes......

You've just reminded me of when I left my card in the machie when paying for good in a shop over christmas ... until my nephew said 'Aunty Moi, don't forget your card' ..... ooopsie !

Thats something I always fear of doing and end up checking my purse about 50 times after leaving the shop to make sure I do have my card errrgghh

I would forget my head soemtimes, if it weren't screwed on !

god, i should get my mum to write an atricle on the e-cig. shes like an expert haha. its just water vapor and nicotine, so you are literally inhaling the nicxotine and water and then when you breath out the water come out of you as steam, its pretty nifty haha.
