Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
What type are you looking for?
I use a simple webbing half check & a 2 metre softex training lead.

Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
The ones I've put links up for are very strong. Dempsey weighs 30 kilos (+) and when he sees a cat he can pull like a train, but the collar & lead have held up well for about a year now.
But it depends what you're looking for, really.

The pups or the collars/leads?
The pups are 7 months or so, so are quite a good size now, I would think! The collars come in difefrent sizes, so there would be one to fit.

They're up to 20" - you can adjust them. But I would never use one on a young puppy anyway, a flat collar is all a pup needs!

Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
Before Romeo got his fancy staffy and studded collars I just used one of those plain leather collars from Ancol. They lasted pretty well and didn't rub. I used an ezydog harness on him till he was about eight months old, it was easier to control him when he decided to attack my feet! Now hes an adult though i've found he walks better in a collar and lead. The lead I used when he was a pup was a thin chain one from the pound shop-I wouldn't recommend that-he bent it!

I don't like chain leads - they hurt your fingers!

Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
Thats very true. The chain lead I use at the moment, quite a heavy duty one, has such a comfortable handle though. I'm on the look out for one like it in brass. The leather handles to chain leads I find really burn my hands.I don't like chain leads - they hurt your fingers!
Would what not be, sorry? You might find it a lot easier in a harness, if one of them pulls a lot I recommend quite a thick collar to prevent him/her hurting their neck. If you want some links to nice collars I can give you some but I don't know what your taste is.Would these not be ok for my 7 month old pups
Do you like studded, plain, leather, webbing, material?

Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
Who says that? You can harness them from whatever age, it won't harm them. Its utter balls people that say it harms the dogs growth or whatever. It was a lot better for my dog because he stopped choking himself on his collar.Don't really want the leather studded style yet thank you links would be great don't ppl say not to harness staffs to early on
Loads of fancy collars here in all sizes and styles:

More traditional:

hand made and good quality, he will also make to order whatever you want:

I've bought products from all of these sellers and they're all good. I have another favourite but its very much leather and studded.

A simple webbing collar and lead along with patience and training will fix the pup. A half check webbing collar I suggest though :3

Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
Both mine have the trixi padded harness and the police style dog leads as we go many different places and the leads are strong you can also use them long, medium, short lengths also I find putting them roundup waist and jogging slowly keeps them looking at me( I don't go too far or fast as my youngest is only 6 months )

Re: Looking for a good lead and collar
Take a look here http://dog-games-shop.co.uk/harnesses-fleece-lined
Heston is 5 months and he is currently wearing a fleece lined harness in size 3 alongside a material collar and a double clip lead. Using both harness and collar with the lead gives you more control and also takes the pressure of your pups neck.
He has nearly grown out of them both and I am going to switch to the perfect fit harness and a fleece collar now, as his his shoulders and neck are getting much broader. I can't recommend these collars and harnesses enough & they are also having a sale, so get in there!
