allergic reacction Empty allergic reacction

Morning everyone, just looking for some advise. One of my staffies has come out in lumps and bumps all over his legs, sides and chest, some of the look red and blotchy. I've rang the vet which diverted me to the PDSA but they want £120 to see him, of which I can not afford. He seems ok in himself, drinking normal and eating ok. Could it be the snow as he has been running around in it. He just looks awful and I cant stop itching myself looking at him !!!!!!!! Can I give him an antihistamine to help settle it down.

Piriton is OK to give to your dog but I cannot remember the dosage sorry.

I have copied this link as Rocky had an allergic reaction to something recently. This worked FOR US however please check with your vet first before decide to use it as it may not be OK for your dog.

I really couldn't recommend any others because, quite simply, I don't know! My vet recommended Piriton (not Piriteze!).

Hi Yvette,

Like other member's have said piriton is the best and i buy the ones from the chemist 30 tablets in a box and i give bruno one daily only which my vet told me is allowed because he suffers from hayfever in the summer.

Huge thank you, I've managed to get some piriton and the lumps and bumps seem to be calming down. He seems happy in himself

sounds like exactly what happened to Russell the other month - we think it was from pesticides in our friends garden - or possibly from a particular type of bush there.

unfortunately when we gave him an antihistamine, and it did nothing! - it was 3am so the vet trip cost aaaa lot!

glad yours is getting better, how is he today?
