Re: jakes got dandruff
Try adding a little cod or salmon liver oil to his food (just a teaspoon two or three times a week), and/or give him a tin of sardines in oil or tomato sauce a couple of times a week.

Depending how much you want to spend, you could also try this...

It's very good.

Re: jakes got dandruff
Well, you can, but it'll be very messy! It's best to treat the symptoms from the inside if you can. As I said before, Yumega is a very good supplement & is good for skin dryness etc.

Re: jakes got dandruff
Try using tea tree oil shampoo as it is a natural antiseptic formula and kind on their skin.
My eldest Zeus had dandruff as a baby and I have used the tea tree on him along with the following oils as supplements:
Omega 3 1000mg - 3 a day for 2 weeks, 2 a day for a week then one daily
Evening primrose oil 500mg 1 a day
Odurless garlic 200mg 2 a day.
These oils are both good for skin condition as well as joint care.
I found that the omega 3 oil works far better than cod liver oil and all the above 3 are easily sourced (homebargins) and cost less than £3 a bottle and last a long time.
Its worth a try and should make a big improvement to coat condition hun

Surely it's best not to shampoo too often, though? Any shampoo will strip oils from the coat.

Re: jakes got dandruff
I only ever shampoo when the dogs are stinky, have been in salt water or have rolled in anything funky.
I never bath them regularly, sometimes b4 a special show as an extra but not regular at all.
Think i have bathed mine twince in 2 years!!! Stinky I know but its better for them

Yes hun they are in capsules, similar to cod liver oil. The omega 3 is a fairly large capsule mind but mine just eat them all like sweets out your hand!!
