Dandruff??
Hi all,
It seems my Alfie may have a case of dandruff. Or that's what it looks like to me. Little white flecks of what looks like dry skin. He is not itching or has any sore or inflamed skin. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
P.s. His last bath was December

Re: Dandruff??
You could try some oily fish in his diet, I think a few have suffered because of this weather Xx

Re: Dandruff??
I had a problem with this on Logan as soon as the cold weather hit. I have started giving apple cider vinegar which is great for the skin. Logan always gets a tin of sardines/mackerel every week, but he got a bit extra last week which really helped. 1 raw egg per day also.
It's pretty much totally gone now

Also, I read to brush regularly to help remove it but this def made it worse!
I rubbed him down with a dry towel just and it worked a lot better

Re: Dandruff??
I've recently bought a furminator which I must admit brings off more loose hair than I could ever imagine! But do you think this could be adding to the problem??

They are very good. But I think it would have made Logan worse at the time. It def wouldn't have caused it though. I'd give it a break and just rub down with a dry towel for a week and it should show good signs of improvement. The oily fish works a treat though

Last time I gave Ralph sardines, it really gave him the runs!! Any hints and tips for this problem? Ralph also has dry skin at the mo so I'd like him to have sardines...

Just make sure it's in olive oil. The brine one's wouldn't be good for them. It's also maybe an idea to give the tin in two seperate meals, maybe half and half because they are quite rich.
Logan cries the house down for sardines. Absolutely adores them.
You could also try tinned mackerel because it, being another oily fish, is good also. Maybe not just as strong though? Def not as strong smelling!

Re: Dandruff??
Rocky has also been suffering from the same fete, we have tried putting a little olive oil in his dinner and will await to see an improvement, hopefully.
The oily fish should work great too, just add a little to his dinner and see how it goes.

Re: Dandruff??
Ledger has also been suffering, for the last couple days I have added a tsp light olive oil to his kibble and got a few tins of sardines in tomato to split over this weeks food, I have also just had baked trout so he has the skin mixed with some mashed potato in his kong for when I head to work in a bit
