endless energy after exercise?!!
This last week Tinkerbell has really come out of herself. It's the first time she has played with her toys without being enticed since we have had her. She is finally a lot happier now she is settled, and we are finding her naughty staffie streak It is great because she didn't seem that happy since we had her, think it may have taken her this long to learn she can trust us. And to realise she won't just be chucked out in the garden all day like she was in the last home.
Anyway over the last couple of days she has had this endless energy, no matter how much she is walked or how much playing she does she is still full of it. I don't mind, we just aren't used to it as she would normally sleep all day before. But like today I have taken her out for an hour and 10 minute walk, quite a brisk walk too as we covered a fair distance in that time. But the moment she came home, I put her in her crate so I could go back out and bring Harrison in who was still sat in the buggy. Shut the kitchen gate and went back outside to get Harrison and the buggy in. Within 20 seconds of being outside, I could hear a load of banging and clanging....Tinkerbell was bombing around the kitchen and literally flinging herself into her crate, skidding to a stop at the back of the crate before turing around and doing another lap.
Then she was grabbing all her toys and flinging them around the kitchen and going to pick them up to do it again. And back in the crate, bang bang, round the kitchen and start again. This went on for about 15 minutes before she eventually listened to me and stopped
Do you think this is just a happiness thing?! She always does it after a long walk. Now she is fast asleep in her crate though finally given in to the tiredness!

Sounds like a normal day at our house I would take it as a good sign.

Could be just getting rid of the final bit of energy after the walk. Rocky does a very similar thing runs around picking up toys and going berserk. He will then finally settle down and have a kip. He has us in stitches sometimes.

Re: endless energy after exercise?!!
She's happy. Sounds like you're doing something right!
Most dogs seem to keep a bit of energy back for a rush around the house when they get home! Staffs seems to have reserves that they can call on at a moment's notice.
We used to walk Bandit all around the City of London on a sunday (nice & quiet, plus lots of interesting things to see without the crowds!) and we'd be out for about 3 or 4 hours. He'd get home, sleep for about 20 minutes & then be raring to go again!

I don't mind it all except when the other half is trying to sleep after a night shift and the bangs wake him up It is nice to see her happy and settled here for the first time since we have had her.
Can't wait until my exams are over and the little one is back in school (heating broken so still not back) then I will have 2 and a half hours to walk her without kids tagging along too on the day's I am not in uni! Let's hope she then burns off some more energy

Re: endless energy after exercise?!!
well she has just been for another hour but this time with kids in tow. We found a solution though, we went out the back way this evening so I could put the bin bags out before going. Left two in the garden to do when we came back because she was itching to go So off we go and return an hour later. I let her off lead in the garden when we got home so I could get the two bags up and get the kids in the house.
She charged about like a loonatic, came in and went straight to her crate. She has been out for food but has been there ever since and that was just under an hour ago!
