Definatly well worth the money (although Moo hasn't taken to hers yet!) they are very durable and people on here swear by them. Got mine off Ebay and it was about £13 I think

are they are a really hard plastic ball?
This one is..... the ones we get here in Australia are called staffy balls. Another expensive toy ( around $70 ) but like the black kong Jethro has failed to destroy it!!

Got him a soccer ball once.. pumped it up real full, 2 seconds later we heard.."Psssst.." that was that ball gone!!

Re: Boomer Balls
I think I have seen something similar to these today at the pet shop/warehouse. I didn't think much of them because they were so hard. But after reading everyone's posts, I have now changed my mind. It is now on the "To Buy" list.
Am I right in thinking, they are just a hard, hollow plastic ball?
Also, just a thought. Couldn't you fill a football (soccer ball) with expanding foam? I don't mean just fill and leave. I mean, stab a few holes opposite eachother and then fill it, that way it wont explode. Then, leave the ball for a few days for the foam to set fully. That way, your staffy will have their favorite football and not be able to pop it. Obviously replace the ball when its worn out or ripped to bits, so your dog cant get to the inside and just make a mess.
Or is that just a bad idea?

Re: Boomer Balls
If you have a Best-Pets shop near you ask them to get one ,we use the warehouse that these shops use and they have them there so if they are not on display ask.
Don't know if they are called boomer balls but they have Virtually indestructable on the packaging.
They show them on their website rsp 6" £9.19 8" £15.99 10" £20.45 , you may be able to haggle a little off these prices if you are persuasive

Re: Boomer Balls
I might have to get one of these, Izzy is just so destructive when it comes to toys. Mind you she didn't kill the Kong, the rather long hot summer in Perth did that instead

Funny thing is Kita is just so happy with the same old type of ball (costs about $5 in Big W or the pet shop) and she wont even look at anything else I show her. Well, maybe a decent "stick" would get a little attention - till she got bored with chasing it and just stopped and chewed it up.

Re: Boomer Balls
Boomer ball got delivered today I gave it to Skye, it's her birthday present 2 days early!! (she is 1yr old on sun)
She went really wild with it wouldn't stop barking and growling at it as she was running around pushing it about the garden!
Not sure if it is good idea yet as she was really exhausted and wouldn't give in I had to take it off her in the end she was like a mad woman!!
Will be good to get rid of all her surplus energy, but just hope I am not making her any madder than she is already!!
How has your dog been with their boomer ball please let me know??

Jethro goes berserk when playing with his, we actually have taken it off him, as we are worried he might hurt his back when he is rolling on the ground ( he always falls over ! )or his shoulder when he runs sideways at it.. But I think they get worked up because they can't actually get their teeth into it.when he is playing with it he sounds like he is a wild ferocious animal... the growling and snarling...if you didn't know him, you would be terrified!!
We haven't let Winston play with it yet, he is just abit too young, but the staffy ball has copped a real hammering off Jethro the last 3 or 4 years and it is still good as new. We got Jethro a soccer ball as we thought that is softer for him to hit with his shoulders and pumped it up really hard... he had it for about half a minute and then we heard "ppppssssstttttttttttt.." that was the end of that !!
