Bald patch? Vet doesn't know either..looks like it's spreading!
Hi any help or advice would be really appreciated. Our staffy is 7 months old and developed a bald patch above her ear about two months ago we took her to the vets and he gave us Surolan to treat it, however it had no effect. We took her back and as he said it is not sore or red, she never itches it and it doesnt seem to bother her so don't worry. We treat her with advocate once a month and she has been wormed. It doesn't seem to bother her at all but it now look like its spreading around her ear and coming down onto her head??
Any advice would be great?
Thank you x

What has the vet said?
Maybe try not using the advocate so much, I'm sure it should only be used every 3 months and even thats not needed. Its sounds like an awful lot of chemicals to be putting on a pup. It could be causing an irritation, just a thought Xx
Hi and welcome btw

Hi,
Thank u for your advice. The vet thought it could be fungal when we first took her so gave us surolan. But when we went back last week he told us to stop using it because its not sore or red so won't be fungal. So he gave us advocate, 3 pipettes, which is mite aswell and said treat her once a month. Just worried as it looks like its getting worse?

Yes it does seem to get a little worse but you should see a improvement on the second month if its the dreaded mites
