Racket at the vets
My dogs were in for their first booster today. They started to whine as soon as they arrived and when they were examined they squealed and screeched so much you'd think they were being murdered! The vets found it funny but i've never heard dogs making that noise before and what about if they actually needed treatment if injured?. I've realised that they don't actually have much physical contact with people other than family and i think being poked by the vet really scared them. They are fine walking past people etc but most people don't cuddle passing staffies.Trouble is i can't think of how to practice .

Oh bless them! .. I've never had this problem so I'm not much help here, only thing I have to do is get mine in the actual room! Lol they refuse to move haha.

Try to introduce them to as many people and different situations as possible.

Aw poor puppies. As jstaff says, all you can really do is introduce them to as many people and situations as you can so that they will not find it so intimidating.

I've never had that problem because Saxon loves the vet. What were the noises like? Did they sound like a whimper mixed with a purr and a scream? Saxon makes that noise when he really wants to go play with a dog or person. It's a normal Stafford sound.

Moo will lead me to the vets!! Maybe you could try taking them to the vets (when they don't need to go) and get them used to the enviroment. They are funny things

Yep high pitched scream mixed with a bit of yodeling sounds about right i think in future i will take them individually as they were winding each other up.They also had all the poor dogs in the waiting room thinking it was their turn to be tortured next. As soon as we left they did the little miss perfect staffie routine .
