In your relationship with your dog
In your relationship with your dog
In your relationship with your dog, how do you see your role? Leave a comment and explain your response!
Re: In your relationship with your dog
I suppose the nearest is best friend, although it's a mixture between that and guardian/owner.
I've never had a 'pet' dog, they've always been companions & friends.

Re: In your relationship with your dog
Im the dad........Firm but fair....set guidelines for him but also show him my full support and how proud I am when he achives something good and I also love him like the son I never had

Re: In your relationship with your dog
Shes my best friend but i am her mummy. I set her guidelines, i feed and walk her, but i think i have a greater need for her than she does for me my husband plays rougher with her than i do. She probably sees me as her mummy though x
Re: In your relationship with your dog
Definatly her mum and best friend, I get so much from her and wouldn't know what to do with myself if she wasn't here.

Re: In your relationship with your dog
My answer is owner, but I have to say I´m more like leader.
Yes we have great time with dogs and they are like my best friends, but I set the rules and boundarys. Example, they don´t run wild if I dot´t give permission
I can´t be mom and I´m not ready to be dad

My dogs are mine and my partners babies. I have kids anyway but not my partners and i didn't want anymore so Vinnie and Gizmo have made our family complete and brought us all together.
To say we adore them is an understatement...

Re: In your relationship with your dog
We give Bezial all of the love, attention, food etc that he wants/needs and heaps more, but at the end of the day, we are his guardians and he loves us. We can let him in our bed, we can feed him, we can do everything that we can to make his life happy and healthy and worthwhile, but that makes us 'guardians of his quality of life', we could just as easily be 'bad guardians' and make his life hell. He is just very VERY lucky that his 'guardians' love him and want to give him the best life possible.

My pets are my babies. We say things like, "go to daddy," and, "go to mommy." Probably makes us a bit crazy!

I'm Violets full time personal assistant. I also dabble in being her personal chef, listening therapist and bodyguard, but mainly, I just take care of her day to day errands.

Mommy. She knows to go to mommy or daddy (my husband). She is definitely our third child. Maybe it will change more to best friend as she gets older because she's still a puppy? But right now she is our baby

Re: In your relationship with your dog
Loki's my best friend I don't see him as my 'child' or whatever, so I suppose there's a bit of owner/guardian thrown in there too since he can't do everything he wants to do.

I voted Guardian and then regretted it a bit.
I suppose I'm more than just that.
He's a mixture of my dog and my wee pal.

Re: In your relationship with your dog
I'm defo Mummy to my Frank and Tara
I’m the one who feeds them, walks them, plays with them, bathes them, comforts them, takes them to the vets, brushes their teeth …. And although I spoil my two I’m also the one who provides the boundaries.
I think I deserve the title lol
I have invested a lot of love time and money in to my two and its worth every bit of it for the cuddles in bed, the welcome home and the random acts of love from my two.
xx
