Can dogs be emotionally healing?

Can they help you heal more quickly when something bad happens in your life?

My god yes! They give you a reason to get up in the morning, the same as having a child! Moo has been my rock for a few years, good and bad but always consistent and always there. Xx

Banes keeps me sane when everybody around me is pushing my buttons. He's only young but he can sense if I need a hug, or just need to slow down
