(debate) in an relationship

In your opinion do you think you have to have everything in common to make it last forever?

Of course not, its about working as a partnership

Nope I couldn't live in someone's pocket need some different hobbies and to appreciate each others differences

Definitely not, they say opposites attract! It's always more fun when the other person has different interests to introduce you to!

No not at all if you were both the same it would be boring, me and OH have lots of differences, and lots of things we have in common too, we've been together for 22 years

yes you need to have something in common to make an relationship last .
you need to acctully like eachother lol    
but most important imo is you both need the ability to talk to eachother or probs will arise  

Being in a relationship is about being able to talk to someone else for 10 minutes at least. You need to have differences to have things to talk about in the first place. It's OK to have some things in common but not everything, that would be boring.

A few common thoughts , principles and feelings go a long way to make things last but never everything in common , it would drive you round the bend. In some ways me and the OH are like chalk and cheese but share some common values in life . We wed after 8 weeks of meeting and will be 16 years end of this month

My OH and I have a few things in common but also a lot that we don't have in common. It keeps things interesting.

I think you have to share the same values and respect for each other though.
