Chicken wings !!!!
Can someone tell me if its ok to give Inca a mainly raw diet... She is making it plainly clear that she prefers her raw food to anything else...
The thing is she absolutely loves the chicken wings from prize choice and the beef chunks aswell from the same company, but i tried her on the poultry necks and heart chunks from there an she hates em !! ..... But my main question is .... Is she alright having chicken wings or beef chunks for her meals aslong as i put a few things with them .. Also what sort of things can i put with them or give her so she isn't missing out on her vitamins & minerals !!
Oh an she has the raw mince every now & then ( but she likes it warmed up in the mic !!! ) with a few pea's .....
I know there are many people on here who can give me great tips please ...

Re: Chicken wings !!!!
Chicken wings are fine to give to your dog, we have been trying the raw diet for Billy for about 6 months now along as you give a balanced diet they don't need any vitamins
As long as you give a mixture of bones and meat it should be fine. Caryll is the expert and should be along soon to give you all the advise you need

Re: Chicken wings !!!!
Billy is so fussy on the raw diet, one second he likes something and the he does not it is quite hard he hates mince of any sort but loves chicken wings hated tripe.
It is so dificult to have a balanced diet

Chicken wings are fine.
I don't mix Dempsey's food with anything else (ie dry or tinned processed food), but people have done it successfully. Just remember that raw food only takes about 4 or 5 hours to digest whereas processed food takes about 15-17 hours. So if you want to feed both, give raw in the morning and processed at night so that the stomach has time to digest each one properly.
If you feed a complete raw diet, though, you shouldn't need to supplement it with anything else. Just give a good mixture of meats with edible bones (the softer ones are better - raw chicken wings/carcasses, lamb necks/ribs/spines & other smaller bones from various animals) and a little offal a couple of times a week and your dog shouldn't need anything else. The only supplements I give are cod (or salmon) liver oil a couple of times a week, a couple of raw eggs a week and some raw veg (but only cause Dempsey likes it!).

Re: Chicken wings !!!!
Same with Harvey he's doing brilliantly on his raw diet but he's not a fussy dog anyway!

Re: Chicken wings !!!!
Hehe, I've found the most effective tool to encourage Rascal to eat when she's having a "fussy" moment is the cat! Rascal finds her food far more appealing if she sees the cat's after it

Re: Chicken wings !!!!
Yes chicken wings are fine. Lola has her's every breakfast time frozen, so straight from the freezer, she also has chicken carcass's.
she will then have her main meal in the evening which is lamb, mince, tripe, beef. twice a week with her main meal she has sardines and twice a week she will have two raw eggs.
Nothing is cooked and she doesn't have any vitamins at all.
she has filled out nicely and her coat is gleaming, well apart from the allergy she seems to have at the moment. But hopefully will find out what that is tomorrow at the vets.

Re: Chicken wings !!!!
Basically a pup can be fed raw from when it's weaned obviously they can't eat some of the larger, tougher bones but they can eat the full diet, you just have to use common sense. Chicken wings (chicken in general) are the best things to start a pup off with
