Raw chicken wings Empty Raw chicken wings

Post by IckleMini Fri Sep 02 2011, 12:12

I would like to give raw chicken wings as an occasional treat but was wondering from what age it was safe to do so? Rommel will be 11 weeks tomorrow is this too young?

I also do a recipe using chicken thighs which I cut the bone out of whilst the chicken is raw - is this bone safe to give him and if so from what age?

you can give raw chicken wings from now but they must be raw, and not mixed with any kibble

just keep any eye out whilst he is eating them

rommel will love them

Brilliant - do I literally just give him the whole wing at once or do I need to cut it up first?

Winston is the biggest guts when it comes to chicken ..especially raw. He swallowed a chicken neck whole in a matter of 2 seconds!! Now I have to freeze any raw chicken I get him, makes him have to chew it abit before he can swallow it! If I give Jethro a piece of raw chicken, he just looks at me, you have got to be joking, and walks off. He likes his cooked with gravy and vegies!! Laughing

Just watch to make sure he chews on the wing instead of trying to swallow it!

I wouldn't give the thigh just yet - wait till he's teething, but still keep an eye to make sure he chews it. After a while you won't need to be so vigilant.
