Suki won't let me exercise
Now this may seem silly and it's not a big deal but I was curious if anyone else had this particular issue. I am fairly active and like to do alot of bodyweight exercises (pushups and abdominal exercises) on the floor at home. Any time I do this Suki won't let me get past three reps before she runs over and stops me. Even if she is in another room or sleeping she still will run in and stop it. I've given up trying to stop this and my English Bulldog used to do the same thing also so I was just wondering if this is common behaviour?

I think they all do it as if either of us are on the floor for any reason even just sitting then he has to either come over and see what your doing or most of the time just runs and jumps on you, stopping whatever your doing

Dempsey (and Bandit before him) does exactly the same if my oh does any exercising. Maybe it's because if you're on the floor, you must be playing!

Sitting on the floor = Squashed by a staffy!

This is about what I figured. It's weird though because the OH can be cooking and Suki will lay down by her feet and when I sit on the floor she ignores it. If I start to exercise it's suddenly play time.

They are really clever they do know your corect posture should be on 2 feet upright so they associate that when you change posture that you need comfort ,help or play to get you back to your correct position

Re: Suki won't let me exercise
Sorry, but I found this really funny because I bought myself a wii with wii fit last Christmas with the intention of doing some exercises every day. Well you can imagine whats its like, one staffie sat on the board as well! At least that's my excuse for not using it very often

I haven't even switched on the xbox Kinect since Violet got here - can't imagine my Dance Central scores would be very good with a staffy zooming by the sensor every 2 seconds!

Haha ruby is the same... If I sit on the floor she's completely normal, but as soon as I lean back or lie down she literally jumps on my head and starts licking my ears or chewing my hair... It must be a secret staffy signal your sukiyaki sounds so much like ruby, you had problems with her skin too right? How's she going with it?

Thanks for asking. She is doing okay. We got her allergy test results back and she is allergic to most protein sources. We got her a vegetarian dog food with a soy based protein. We'll try her on that for a couple of months and see how it goes. If it doesn't work put we will try a venison or kangaroo based food each for a couple of months and go with what works best.

oh that's good, at least you have an indication of what it is now!
hopefully the new food sorts her out sooner rather than later
