Bruiser is 11months.
He has been on puppy dog meat for the last 2 months with some dry food also as he is sooooooo fussy it has taken months to find him a food he likes.
over the past week he has had the runs on and off, he seems really well in himself- still very playful and still begging for human food etc!. im tried to feed him rice and chicken as recommended by a friend who said it helps- but he ate the chicken and turned hes nose up at the rice- then he was crying as he was still hungry.
today he has had a really runny poo and then a half formed one. do u think maybe i need to change hes food?
my dad has said about taking him to the vet but he really doesnt seem ill
i dont no what to do!
also i would like to point out that bruiser eats bloody EVERYTHING in the garden, including wood- hes new favourite- could this be a factor?

What brand is he on? Moo's poo used to be hurrendous, and she would get caught short overnight and I would wake up to a mess all over the carpets sick

I had her health tested and everything was clear so I changed foods, still runny poo, but not overnight, so I changed foods again and finally I have improved it and she is now fine, took over a year to get her there!

You could be right and she has picked something up in the garden, they do eat anything! If he is still drinking plenty then I wouldn't rush to the vets but keep an eye out. I can understand fussy eating! Mine has 2 types of biscuits because she didn't eat properly for over a week, and now she eats the new biscuits and somehow manages to eat round the biscuits she doesn't like!!

Alternativly you could try putting him on a raw diet. Doesn't suit all but is highly reccomened Smile

Just a thought - your pup could be chicken intolerant. Try cutting out the meat for a day or two - give scrambled eggs, potatoes & rice cooked in stock. If the poo improves, you'll know!

are you giving him any treats?
ruby will get the runs every time she has rawhide for some reason... so no more rawhide treats or bones...

rocko is the same we took him to vets and she says that staffies tend to have more sensitive stomachs than any other breed and that its takes them a while to get used to new food.
try goats milk and broken up bread or scrambled egg that might help.
