Sensitive Tummy
Took Elwood to the vet this morning because of his severe Diarrhea. The vet gave him some Kaolin Paste which should hopefully sort him out, but she did say he probably has a sensitive stomach as staffys are prone to this. Any ideas on food to give him? I did think about Burns as its hypo-allergenic etc. Any one tried this or have any ideas on other food to try?

Re: Sensitive Tummy
Lets hope that this helps him.
When Moo had severe diareah when I first got her I put her on 'Royal Canin sensitivity control' food and it worked a treat for her. Worth a look, its basically just chicken and rice Xx

Re: Sensitive Tummy
Thanks Janey, the vet suggested that as well as Burns and another one that I can`t remember As he`s only going to be eating rice and fish for the next 24 hours I can go to the shop and have a good old mooch!

Ahhhh poor little sausage! It`s horrible when their not quite themselves. I was up yesterday morning at 4.30am and this morning at 6.00am cleaning runny poop off the floors. Thank god for wooden flooring lol

Re: Sensitive Tummy
Murphy also has a squitty bum but i think its to do with the fact he never got wormed!! Hopefully the treatment will kick in soon.
Re: Sensitive Tummy
Lots of squits about I reckon. Elwood has had some Kaolin paste twice today and its already made a bit of difference. He`s only pooped a couple of times and its getting a bit thicker.......all this talk of poo is putting me off my Korma lmao

Re: Sensitive Tummy
I don't know where vets get this idea that staffys' stomach are any more sensitive than any other breed!
The other food you could try are James Wellbeloved or fish4dogs. Both are pretty easy to get & if you get them online they're fairly inexpensive as well.

Daisy has tried to poop and nothing comes out, kinda thinking maybe constipation, but her farts are horrible, way worse and more often then normal. unsure of whats going on with, but i know I wouldnt wanna deal with the squirts, we have carpet...last time it was a mess....gave her a pad in the kitchen wasnt good enough, she had to go to the carpet...all over the walls and everywhere else....:S

Sounds like she needs more fibre. Try pupling a selection of vegetable (carrots, cabbage, potatoes etc) and mix some in with her food. Or you could try a veg supplement like Rinti Green Mix (http://www.zooplus.co.uk/shop/dogs/wet_dog_food/rinti/rinti_dry_mixer/14254). Just 50g a day will supply enough fibre to keep her going regularly.

Re: Sensitive Tummy
Keep an eye on her, but if the vet has checked her over and said she`s ok then go with it. But if she has more blood in her poo then I would take her back to be on the safe side. Everly is a great name btw! Good luck with your new baby girl! xx

Re: Sensitive Tummy
Hi ya. Was going to post myself as Daisy has had a runny tummy since we got back from a week away in Tenerife. Daisy stayed back at the pub with our friend whislt we've been away but seems to have had the runs on and off most of the week away and 2-3 times a day since we've been back. Yesterday her stools was more solid but bright yellow! I've only had daisy a month, but her previous owners fed her pedigree chum and very little biscuit. She doesn't seem too keen on biscuit but I keep trying. I read with interest about the lack of fibre and want to try and change her diet as her poo has never been solid. Keep trying to get customers not to feed her too! she see seems okay in herself. Any ideas?
