Sardines ????

I've heard that some people feed their dogs tuna or sardines.

Just wondering if you feed fresh (as in RAW) or tinned??? If you feed tinned, which is best.....brine, springwater, oil, tomato sauce etc.... and how much and how often do you give to your dog. Roxy had some sardines last night and really enjoyed them but I want to make sure I do the right thing by her and give her what is best for her system

Lisa every week I give Jethro and Winston a tin of sardines or tuna. I always give the one in oil as I guess the brine ones might have too much salt.
I give them tins cos I am lazy and it is easy to just open up a tin !!

you can feed any sardines apart from the ones in brine as said to high in salt .
and i dont feed tuna very often as it can have a higher than recomended murcury content so be a little carefull of the cheaper brands

Excellent. Roxy had a tin of sardines in tomato sause last night and loved them Glad they are ok for her to have, and I was planning on once a week as you mentioned Vanessa

I feed harv whole raw sardines with the heads and tails on etc and he loves them!

I give milly and my other two dogs sardines once a week they love them.They do smell a bit But its worth it when i see my dogs all exited And smacking there lips

I give Dempsey the odd tin of sardines in oil. He won't eat raw fish, which is a shame!
