Raw whole sardines
Hi all, just a quick question. I went to my new favorite shop tonight, Costco and they had a huge bag of whole frozen raw sardines for only two pound something. I give Misty tinned sardines in sunflower oil once a week or so and she absolutely loves them. Is it ok for her to have a whole fish? They are so big compared to the little ones I get in the tins. Shall I remove the head and defrost them? Or can she have a whole one raw? Thanks all

Re: Raw whole sardines
I think they are fine to feed whole as the bones are soft, but wait til Liz comes on as she feeds her babies fishy lollies (so Millie says)

Re: Raw whole sardines
Yes, fishy lollies! I have no problem feeding frozen sardines. Sardines are easy either frozen or thawed. Some of the harder boned fish can be a bit tricker unfrozen as bones can get stuck in the throat.
Tell Misty - enjoy!

Thanks very much Liz! Going to give her one tomorrow, as she eats anything and everything I'm sure she will love it. Just wanted to make sure it was safe for her so thanks for putting my mind at ease.
