First time having her blood drawn
We just got back from the dermatologist and getting a blood test for allergies. The results should be back in about two weeks. I was a bit nervous about how she would react to needles and it turns out that Suki really really isn't a fan. The two vials took about 20 minutes to draw. I had to physically hold her down which is no longer easy since she's 24kg now and was very determined to get away. She was so angry after the first vial the vet had to leave to give her some time to calm down. I'm feeling a bit right now but hopefully the results will help out and we won't have to do that again. Does anyone have a dog that is okay with needles?

Yes Moo has never had a needle for that long so I wouldn't know. Lets hope the results come back with the answers. I'm not sure I could keep hold of a 24kg Staff that wants to get away so well done you and hugs to Suki Xx

Dempsey's really bad with needles. I'm afraid he has to be muzzled & I have to hold on to him really tight. As you say, that isn't easy - he's 30 kilos now.

It was a bit concerning with how hard she was to control. I was afraid she would cause the needle to break. She is nowhere near done growing and will also probally go over 30 kgs. Usually she is so docile and gentle it felt like I had done a jui jitsu tournament afterwards. She was also growling and her hackles were up. She has calmed since but I am not loking forward to repeating the experience.

Gus was actually always fine with needles, long and short. I find it amazing,I never have to hold him down or anything,he just sits there The vet even comments on how cooperative he is.
Kelly wasn't always good with needles, she hated them as a puppy and actually just seemed to calm down about them a few years ago
And Maybel,well I don't think she's much of a fan
Hugs to you and Suki ><

Re: First time having her blood drawn
My girl had to have blood taken for her L2 & HC tests before she had pups though she was fine. Shes actually very good with the vets, knows shes pleasing us so she goes along with it all even if she doesnt really like it! She also rolled over and laid on her back to have her ultrasound scan so bit of a star really!

Re: First time having her blood drawn
Harvey is completely fine with needles even recently when he had to have blood work done and that took about 20 minutes to take the blood he wasn't fussed. Thankfully!
