Is my staffy puppy too small?!
Hey everyone this is Baloo, he is 8weeks old.
People have said he seems small ect
And it’s got me worried and over thinking. So I’ve come on here to share a photo or two and to try get opinions and ease my mind.
I seen mum upon arrival and she seemed fine and everything.
Help! Is he unusually to small or is he fine?

Re: Is my staffy puppy too small?!
Hello and welcome!
Baloo has such a sweet face
From what I see, nothing worries me with regards to his size.
How much does he weigh ?
I think Nifty was weighing in around 3kgs at 8 weeks old.
And even if Baloo appears smaller, he might just be a late bloomer too

No problem, but
From my experience you have a great looking dog and there is nothing you can do if your dog is going to be on the "small" side. What you need to be concerned about is , is he getting the correct amount of daily nutrients? Is his food quality? Their is so much you can do to supplement a good dry quality kibble but just don't try and fatten him up! Figure out his ideal requirements and fulfill them and watch him grow into a wonderful best friend.
I kinda did the same thing you are doing with a pup we got a few months back.
The reason I was worried was because she would rarely eat a full days worth of food. If left to her own devices some days she wouldn't eat even 50 percent of her requirements.
So with several vet visits and a lot of trial and error we are finding creative ways and toppings to get her much needed requirements in her.
Goodluck and don't underestimate the value of good nutrition in his development!

Re: Is my staffy puppy too small?!
Hi & welcome.
Firstly he looks gorgeous!
Secondly, he looks just about right to me. But at that age they grow like wildfire & usually in sudden bursts, so an awful lot can change between now & when he's, say, 18 months old.
Don't take too much notice of what 'other people ' think - the public are used to seeing poorly bred staffs or Stafford crosses. They're not a huge breed, they're not meant to be. But what they lack in size they more than make up for in character!
My old boy, Bandit (many years ago) was one of the smallest of a large litter, but grew to be one of the biggest!
As already said, just make sure he has a good quality food & not too much exercise to start with. He'll be a big lad before you know it!

Thankyou so much everyone, your advice and everything has really really eased my mind! I felt abit stupid asking if he was too small but when people say stuff it does play with your mind and make you question it yourself!
I really appreciate you all responding

Never worry about asking questions. A question is never silly if you need to know the answer!

Hi looks gorgeous & not too small As Caryll said they grow in spurts so he will soon get bigger! Enjoy him being this small as they take up a heck of a lot of bed when fully grown
