stomach problems
Rosie is 11yrs old,she has had chronic stomach issues for a long time but getting much worse ,she has diarrhoea every 2 or 3 days and won't eat her evening meal she usually eats it during the night she also has really smelly wind. she also has strange noises coming from her tummy, We feed her Pero Staffordshire bull terrier grain free dog meat mixed with grain free butchers dog meat.We don't give her food off our plate the only other food she has is rice or egg occasionally.
Could it be the food we give her ?
we don't get any joy off the vet.

Re: stomach problems
When did the stomach issues start? It could be the food (pero isn't one of the best), but it's hard to say. Do you know if she has any intolerances? Poultry can be one of the main food in tolerances in dogs.
You could try giving pre & pro biotics with her food. There are a few around, Pooch & Mutt is good (powder), but there are liquid ones as well (Fortiflora is one).
How many meals does she have a day?

Re: stomach problems
I would definitely look into food intolerance.
My Nifty quickly showed intolerance to eggs which meant that I also had to avoid certain premium kibbles which use egg in their recipes.
I have just taken Nifty off a kibble which includes chicken. In just a few days, I had already seen a huge difference in her stools which are smaller, harder and much less smelly.
For probiotics, I can recommend (because i always use) ProPlan fortiflora. It’s a powder in a sachet and my girls will even lick it up as-is in the bottom of a feed bowl.

She has had a bad stomach for several years but never as bad as this, funny you should mention poultry as we tend to buy or give her chicken flavoured dry or wet dog food as she loves it.We will give her pre & pro biotics with her food.
Up until today she has one meal a day, starting from today she is having 2 meals a day,and stopped giving her pero, using a mixer with her butchers dog meat.
Thank you for the useful information
