Need help with my staffys diet
Hi everyone. This is my 1st time on this forum n I really hope to meet n chat with other pet owners. My name is John by d way.
OK, my problem is I have a staffys. I've had him on acana dry food since I got him. He's nine months old now and doesn't seem interested in his food lately unless I flavour it with a little bit of stew stock or chicken stock etc. Should I be doing this or should I just try something new. I don't want to take him off d acana because it keeps him in great shape. Can you give me any advice. Thank you.

Re: Need help with my staffys diet
Hi & welcome.
A little stock is fine as long as there's little or no salt & no onions. You could try a little tinned sardines (in oil or spring water, not brine) or the occasional raw egg.. Maybe even a little salmon oil.
Give it a try & see if it piques his interest.

Hi from me & Katy Gilly has given you some great options to try, Katy wont eat just plain kibble I always have to add something! Occasionally stock but usually pilchards, scrambled egg or natural yoghurt (0 fat)

Re: Need help with my staffys diet
I’ve also had my girls in Acana at a certain stage.
Which one are you feeding him ? If you’re still feeding the puppy kibble, you could switch to another, I liked the regionals range. You can try another flavour to see if he isn’t just fed up of chicken

Re: Need help with my staffys diet
Hi Johnby and Roscoe Roscoe is goooorgeous!
Careful with the sardines, they're high in salt so maybe stick to Sardine Sunday
In the mean time, great suggestions above, raw egg, salmon oil, a teaspoon of honey, to spike interest.
There are other dog foods that keep them in great shape; my poochs are on Wainwrights Senior, Salmon and Potato. A fish based kibble is a great option for their joints and coats.
