Re: Name suggestions please
Hi and welcome. Congrats on your new baby girl. I’ve always loved the name Luna. We had a list of names, about ten of them. Once we picked him up, We then voted our favourite 3. In the end we decided he looked like an Archie . Can’t wait to see photos of you new pup.

Re: Name suggestions please
Names tend to come when you least expect it and only when you can actually see the pup. My girl was to be named Brody and when i had her in the car on the way home she did a little squiggle in my lap outside a Lexus car shop and thus was named Lexi.

Hello and welcome back !
How exciting to be welcoming your new little girl, time will fly up until then.
As for names, they usually say short and quirky is better.
Do you have any particular things to keep in mind ?
Name starting with a certain letter for the year or the breeder ?
Do you prefer “human” girl names ?
Don’t forget that the name has to suit squidgy puppy as well as adult.
What colour is she ? (A photo would be most helpful )
Oh, and I was just wondering how you got on with your boy, the aggressive puppy ?

Yes, I was just wondering that - did you manage to stop the nipping?

Re: Name suggestions please
Hiya thanks for replies. Luna is very nice but a lady at work got a pup just before the summer hols and she named her Luna. Dont want to seem like ive copied.
Thats cute how Lexi got her name. I like it. I know what you mean about names coming in to you when you see them but the breeder has kindly offered to put the microchip straight into our names with the name we pick and have said they will start calling her our name too so we was hoping to get one picked.
So far on the shortlist there is -
Juno, Missy, Gypsey, Jett or Lulu.
She is black with a white collar, chest and socks.
Our boy that we got a year ago, we took him to our vet who we have used for years and have upmost repsect for. He said instantly that he had taken s disliking to my daughter and that we should take him back to breeder for rehoming. He said we couldnt gamlbe or risk the kids safety as he was really hurting them. We was all heartbroken but has to take his advise. We sought the advise of a dog trainer who said she couldnt guarantee she could stop him being like it and was going to be £200 alone for first consultation.
The breeder agreed to take him back and rehomes him within the family.
We are hoping for a much better experience this time and were so excited. Counting the sleeps now.

You do know, I hope, that all puppies nip. It's a normal & natural part of growing up.
There's no guarantee that the new pup won't nip as well.

Gillybrent i am fully aware all puppies nip, Im not silly. This was not nipping. This was biting and hurting my children very much and making nasty marks on their skin. Making my daughter cry. We followed our vets advise. Thanks for your input but we are trying to look forward positively. My question was about names for our new puppy.

Very nice and very different names.
I do prefer original names which several other pups in canine school are less likely to have, so from your suggestions, I personally prefer Juno and Jett. But both sound more like boy names to me ...
Do you have particular themes you like like films or gem stones or astrology or country, etc ?
Pepsi, Shadow, Bonnie (short for Ebony), Bubbles, Magic, Jinxy, Kayla, Kiki (means new beginning), Jewel, Zara,

Re: Name suggestions please
Yea we did think Jett might be more boyish but then there was that gladiator called Jet wasnt there
Juno is the front runner out of what we have so far, do you think that ones boyish too then? Its coming up on the lists for girls names
I want a girlie name as she seems very sweet and gentle. Gave me a little kiss when we went to meet her and absolutely melted me

Re: Name suggestions please
You really do have alot of possibilities
I chose Nifty’s name (had to start with N) but Opium was already registered when I bought her.
In reality, both have their “house pet names” which are nothing to do with their registered names so as long as you like the name she’ll have on her passport, you’ll probably find yourself calling her something else at some point.

Yea thats true and yes we need to narrow them down a bit more dont we. By the way I noticed I said ' I like original'. Just to clarify I meant I like original names, not that I was considering calling pup 'original'

I didn't mean to sound 'snippy' or anything - just didn't want you to be heartbroken again!

Re: Name suggestions please
I know what you mean about not wanting to “copy” and have an original name. I would be the same. Three days after we decided on Archie’s name ‘someone’ announced that their child’s name is Archie as well . We decided not to change it, but almost everyone asked if that’s why we chose the name.
When you said she is sweet and gentle, made me think of a friend of mine who recently got a staffy. They named her Sugar because of her sweet nature.
Also, I agree with previous comments about the registered name being different to what you actually call her. Archie’s name on papers is Braveheart with the breeders prefix.
Good luck with the name search. Can’t wait to see photos of your new girl.
