allergies
Hi there,
I've got a three year old staff dog he keeps chewing his paws and scratching all the time. I've had him at the vets a few times they said it was grass allergy and house dust mites. Tried coatex oat meal shampoo and yumega itchy dog skin supplements does'nt seem to be doing any good, this is on vets advice. So I was wondering if anybody is in the same boat and how their tackling it?
regards boab.

Re: allergies
I have had this with my boy for years I have tried so much I do find piriton helps and a product called "stinky stuff" which can be rubbed on or put on food also "kifir" natural yoghurt on food will also help the gut of yeast so not to be coming out in the skin. I hope that has helped somewhat. Pop and say hi sometime in intros as we love to see pics of your fur baby

Re: allergies
Piriton may help.
If it is a grass allergy, then wiping paws & belly every time you come in from a walk will help. If it's house dust mites (and I do see how a vet can say that without full allergy tests) then Indorex may help. You use it on the house, not your dog!

If it's solely paws, it may be a yeast-type problem & apple cider vinegar may help to reduce the problem.

Re: allergies
Thanks everybody for your input I have tried most of these and had full allergy tests done to no avail but I'll keep plugging and hope I find something that'll stop the itch.

Re: allergies
You could try treating your house with Indorex (I think it's called), which kills house dust mites.

For grass, you may need to wipe your pupster down with a damp cloth every time you come in from a walk.

Re: allergies
eliminate dust in house and hoover maybe a few times a day and a rub down and use paths as much as possible as opposed to grass not ideal but it will ease the allergy somewhat.....

Re: allergies
You can't eliminate dust mites by hoovering - most vacuum cleaners (if not all) cannot pick them up. Like fleas, you need to destroy them chemically.
Modern eliminators only need you to vacate the area treated for an hour of so.
