Allergies :(
Hi guys, hope everyone is well
Unfortunately cooper has developed an allergy to something and the vet has us on home cooked fish lamb potato and carrot meals for the next 6 weeks. Then we'll introduce things slowly to find out what it is. Panels and blood tests if this doesn't work it out. My poor itchy staffy
I wondered if anyone has any ideas for home made treats. Maybe recipes? For training, still need to high value as you can imagine we are giving a frozen carrot in the house as a treat but just really small chewy things for training.
I've been told venison, lamb or white fish is safer to stick to so any ideas would be appreciated. Sure others have been through similar
Thanks in advance
Lesley

Re: Allergies :(
For a high value training treat a small piece of meat will work, so lamb if he's having that at the moment It may not fit with his diet but I used, chopped up hot dog sausages, ham, spam, chicken and cheese.

Re: Allergies :(
Fish pieces dried (dehydrated) in the oven are a fave around here ... if it fits with your exclusion diet, I can highly recommend tuna for this (it has quite a strong smell even after drying).
You can dehydrate a large amount of foods in the oven, and doing it at home yourself you'll know exactly whats in it

Re: Allergies :(
You can get several types of fish treats from fish4dogs - they're just pure fish, so shouldn't interfere with the allergies.
