Winter watch out!

Winter is just around the corner so as humans would be watching for signs of runny noses and colds, chapped lips/hands (in the northern hemisphere), thought it would be nice to compile things to look out for in our canine friends.

Warning signs, prevention, home cures, etc.

Take care when walking in areas that have been gritted; the grit contains chemicals that are dangerous to ingest & irritate paws.

Watch out for berries, many of which are highly poisonous - especially mistletoe & holly.

Check your dog's pads regularly to make sure they're not splitting/cracking with the cold.

Keep your dog away from: Christmas trees (especially the real ones & ones with 'flocking' on them), Christmas pudding, chocolate, mince pies.

Also keep them away from any anti freeze on the roads etc. It's very poisonous to dogs.

And check any toys they are given by friends and family carefully - last year my guys were given some stuffed toys that were absolute shockers! Needless to say they weren't allowed to have them
