Sick this night (worried novice mum)
I was woken at midnight by the sound of Nifty being sick. A bit of white froth (bile I suppose, as suggests my internet research) which she tried to lick up.
I gave her a biscuit and she went back to sleep but about an hour and a half later, was heaving again and a little bit of biscuit in her bile.
Then again, twice more, but each time, a very small amount of sick passing - about the size of 2 euro coin at the most and always white froth.
Took her outside at 7am for the toilet run. Pee and poop all normal.
This last time, she was licking her lips alot (bad taste in mouth) but not wanting to drink.
She bolted down small portion (30g) of kibble in her usual style but still not very motivated to drink (had a few laps and then contented in licking my wet fingers).
She's currently snoring away amongst her cuddly toys but what next ?
I can give vets a call when they open in an hour but alot of threads I have read say this is common and monitor.
Nifty can be a leaf eater and she did appear to pay more attention than usual to leaves in the garden last night.
I was thinking of giving her a small portion of her kibble at usual times today, as long as no longer sick as from now. Even turned the central heating back on for her as it's grey and damp here.
What a worry !
(and happy birthday to me )

Common and monitor, that sounds spot on. Unless anything changes to cause further concern, I wouldn't worry too much. I tend to give them only a tiny bit to eat until stomachs have settled, which is usually just a day or so.
If she starts to become lethargic, feels hot, etc., or if the vomiting gets worse or doesn't stop, pop her to the vet. Otherwise don't panic.

Thanks for the reassurance.
It's been a couple of hours since pinch of kibble, she's awake and pretty much back to as mischievous as usual. She has drunk more water which is good.
I'll keep an eye on her today and stay on reduced kibble until tomorrow. She's lucky I'd already taken the day off work.

Re: Sick this night (worried novice mum)
Just a little update - clearly more worry than anything else.
Nifty has spent the day switching between being very active (making the most of OH and I being home) and napping.
Appetite is here and she's drinking too so all is well.
She'll be on reduced feed tonight and probably back to normal routine tomorrow.
Would love to know what caused the sleepless night but I guess we'll never know.
Thanks to you for your support, as ever

Re: Sick this night (worried novice mum)
Could simply have been the upset tummy that caused the restless night. Fingers crossed its all passed now and you can get back to enjoying your Biethday, though just a thought, maybe you'll need to celebrate again at the weekend see as this one was interrupted
