Nails are turning red!

I've got 10 weeks old staffy. She hasn't been outside yet and we have cut her nails twice already. I've noticed her nails are turning red, looks like blood is stuck under her nails. Is it normal? She doesn't really lick her paws..

Now I'm no expert but it f she isn't chewing them or injured them then I would imagine it's the claws darkening. From your pictures it looks like the white nail is getting darker.

Just one question, when you cut the nails you didn't notice any fresh blood did you? If you did it could be that you cut too close and caught the quick but if not I would think its normal

No, she doesn't really lick on them or chew. I don't think I cut her nails too short because I didn't noticed any bleeding afterwords, and she didn't make any noise either.

she's using her nails to climb on the sofa and I was just wondering if that could be a reason.

I hope they just getting darker

Oh that's good! I fell better about it now! Will ask the vet when she will get her second injection, just to make sure. Thank you for replying x

quite often, you get redness at the base of the claw through bruising. as she's so young & her claws are still soft (except when they scratch every bit of bare skin they can reach!) it's possible that's what's happened. however, it would be unlikely to have all the claws change. it could just be pigment.
