Hi all, my baby has had gastroenteritis for the past week. A couple of vet visits and he seems to be on the mend. He's lost a lot of weight and muscle. Ideas on best food to feed him to build him back up? Along with lots of walks of course.

I won't worry too much about trying to build him back up. Dogs have an extraordinary ability to drop weight seemingly overnight, but then put it back when they are feeling better. Just increase his rations a little and allow his body to adjust normally.

I'm glad to hear he's on the mend, horrid when they're sick!

He's still on a bland diet of mainly rice with a bit of chicken at minute to sort out his stomach. Think he's enjoying it though as he won't even take a second look at his normal food anymore lol

I do wonder whether the heat has something to do with it too. Flo will get the squits every now and then but the best part of the week is very unusual.

She had chick for breakfast and was very happy with the serving Laughing

He's had gastroenteritis. £210 at the vets found that out for us. So he's been on antibiotics for a week and I'm assuming it's those that are causing it
