I bet you are looking forward to it Big Grin I didn't do puppy classes with Katy but with hindsight I wish I did as she was taken from her litter at 5wks then rehomed to us at 6wks. Has trouble greeting & meeting other dogs properly. She is a kc gold standard pass though which we did at 2yrs Smile Love Struck

Aww how exciting, you will love it. Daisy used to hate the bit at the end where they used to let them all off to have a play (I don't think they do this anymore, this is 10 years ago). She used to run out of the circle and they used to have to keep putting her back in. The trainer used to think he was a comedian and if we kept doing things wrong he would get a chair and make you stand on it in front of everyone and put your hand up and say "I am not listening and really silly and promise to listen to my trainer from now on". When I think of it, it was awful, but really funny if it wasn't you. How things have changed.

Good luck, and if you find you don't agree with any of it, go to a different one. x

We went for an induction course as such to teach us how to do the things we are teaching and she is a non aggressive trainer even preferring to not use the word leave as it can come out to aggressive so she prefers to use what's this as a nicer alternate. That is something to get ur head around lol. We do have a play session in it and luckily mine likes other dogs and is eager for a play but she is aware and supports the more nervous dogs. So this is all seems good

Puppy class Empty What fun

Post by Steph7990 Sat Jul 02 2016, 20:40

Oh my goodness. Had so much fun at class and so did Zeus. For his first session was so glad he was not the worst dog there. Not the best but not the worst. So I am patting my back right now.

Awesome decision to take him to puppy school! Archer loved going and now he loves the vets, win win!
Archer learnt all the basics there and just loved meeting the other dogs I always suggest people take their new pups to some sort of class!

We took our boy to puppy class, he LOVED it. He learnt so much and so did we. It was nice seeing him every week getting really excited when he got in the car and we arrived at class where all of his new puppy pals were!

When he graduated, he got a little mortar board!

Hope you both enjoy Smile

My Max didn't get the best of starts in life so he spent quite some time with no social interaction which led to quite a antisocial dog on walks etc 6months of puppy training has worked wonders this week he got his first rosets (best turned out dog n handler and the most progress made) he now does all the basics and walks on a slack lead I would recommend everyone do some sort of training, its all in the benefit of the dog and the breed its self
