It went relatively well. We only had two small incidents ,a JR pup and a Rhodesian ridgeback get close too close to me for Tips liking. Off lead and away from me she would play with them but as soon as she was with me she went into protect mode and attack and had to take a time out.

At home the JR cross has been having a go at Tip. We got homework for Tip aswell as homework to try get her and the JR cross to stop their misbehaviour. Any advice how I can get the JR cross to stop?

The trainer said her overall behaviour were good for a first lesson and except for the two little incidents she socialized well.

We did have fun except for Tip trapping the JR and now we have homework. We got to work on down and on her not reacting like she wants to eat the JR .

Glad to hear the lesson went mostly well Smile

We may be able to offer some advice on helping with her behaviour toward your JR, but it would be good to know what your trainer suggested first ... it might be just the right thing to do Smile

We to give attenton when we want not when they demand it from us also we to feed them in the same room and who ever taked their attention off their own food and get aggresive food get taken away and they get sent to time out.

I disagree with feeding them together , this will promote problems rather than fix them in my opinion . We always try to feed separately , more for the fact that Tommy will just come and steal Tilly's food and Tilly will stand back and let him , if they have ever had a real scrap it has been over food

Sorry to be clear I refer to the fact that IF they show aggression or possible food issues towards each other , in general if 2 dogs are well mannered towards each other and their food then its not a problem ( sure Ella feeds her 2 together but they are just so good to each other there are no issues )

Lol I has exactly the same at puppy training class with a JR puppy. They both kept going for each other! The trainer wasn't worried too much. He said its a terrier thing and very typical for this to happen when two get together! He showed me how to divert her attention with a treat and praise and get her to concentrate on me not the dog. I'm sure Tip will be fine x

Agree with above on the action at the puppy class , Tommy progressed from growling at everything to being able to take him into a circle of dogs , drop the lead and lead him away with a decent treat in your hand , for this distraction is the key

As said above, distraction is the key and avoid feeding together if that is the issue. Vinny will try to steal Roxy's food if we feed them together (he gobbles and she's a slow eater) and we don't leave food out or unsupervised as that is the only time they niggle at one another. Let us know how you get on!

We decided to keep our feeding routine as is as I agree, their. Aggresion towards each other is not due to food. It is ablut me giving Tip or even the other dogs that sets Gwen off. But Sam and Sasha is bigger than her so she can't take them on. Tip was smaller than her but that dinamic has changed. What confuse me is that Gwen don't belong to me but my daughter and I can't see why she is so pushy when it comes to attention.

I now petted them both while making sure Tip knew I had a treat in my hand and she completely ignored the fact that I was petting Gwen too.

Tip is not the troublemaker. Gwen seem to be the jealous one. Thanks for the advice and I will be following it.
