My staffy was attacked.

Post by Fat fingers on Fri May 06 2016, 20:13

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this, while out walking our dog a jack Russell run from the other side of the field where we walk and attacked our staffy for no apparent reason. Our likes to have a tennis ball with while walking and shows no interest in other dogs. However the poor jack Russell came off much worse. This isn't the first time once a husky had a go and also am Alsatian. As staffy owners you know they are soft and loving dogs. So my question is why is he being attacked without reason. Anyone have any ideas?

So sorry to hear this. Is your dog ok? I agree with Crystal, balls can cause arguments between dogs, however that's not to say it's in any way your fault. Your entitled to take your dog out with a ball and shouldn't expect another dog to attack yours. Did the other owners say anything to you after?

I doubt there's any real reason behind the assaults other than maybe ball envy as suggested if your fur kid hasn't done anything to warrant this sort of behaviour i dont know

That's awful, unfortunately I have this issue with Rio too and the last dog to get aggressive with him was also a jack russel :/

Is your staffy ok? And are they male or female and are they neutered?

Hi and welcome to the forum from me and the zoo Smile xx

Sorry to hear about your pooch getting attacked. It could possibly be the ball or it could possibly just be that those other dogs don't like staffies as some don't. Knox got started on a couple of times but I managed to get in between him and the other dog. Hope your pooch is ok x

Unfortunately there are a quite a few not very good dog owners out there. I think you will find that it isn't related to your dog and that this dog in particular does it to lots of other dogs and the owner is probably an ignorant person.

My dog has been bitten a few times by small terriers, completely unprovoked. I later found out that a couple of these dogs were like it with other dogs as well. Bad ownership unfortunately. It is quite upsetting for you though.
