Introducing myself and my new staffy to the forum!
Hi all! Just wanted to take a moment to say hello to everyone of the forum!
I'm Fran and me and my family recently welcomed a lovely red female Staffy into our lives named Tia. She's around 5 months old and is a little bundle of joy. I'm currently in the process of letting her settle into her new home and with her us, her new family along side our family cat. as well as a training her some basic commands as she is very stubborn at the best of times, but so far so good!
I'll be keeping myself updated here on the site for any help and tips and advice i may need along the way! Have been a dog owner most of my life from a very young age, but this is my first Staffy.
Cheers!

Re: Introducing myself and my new staffy to the forum!
Huge thanks for the warm welcome everybody! Very much appreciated! Tia has settled in nicely so far. It's only been a couple of days and she's already showing tons of character about herself. Our cat isn't overly pleased by her arrival but Tia seems to enjoy her company despite the odd hiss and smack in the face delivered by the cat lol.
My only concern is how bouncy Tia is around our cat. It's clear to see she's only playing. But the cat isn't overly impressed and gets a little hissy. They're and never would be left unsupervised. But I'm just hoping after a few days they'll jell a little more and things may calm slightly.

Is Tia a rescue ?
You'll probably find that the cat will learn to keep out the way. Most cat and dog owners ensure that the cat has somewhere high up to scramble to if needs be

Out of the two it is the cat that is being the pain. Tia just wants to play and the cat is being a bugger. Although they are not nearly as bad as anticipated them to be.
We had been looking for a staffy for a little while and found Tia through an animal selling/adoption site. She is a good little girl but didn't know much of basic training commands. So in the space of a few days and a little time and patience she has been taught to sit, paw and now understands what the word 'No' means. Training treats are a blessing!

Thank you so much! Yes, I have been extra vigilant of any nasty claws playing a role in their meetings. So far it's proving to be not an issue as Tia soon scoots away from the grumpy cat lol. Our cat is still a baby herself being just 8 months old. So hopefully they'll learn to tolerate each others company in time.
We're currently at this stage... " />

I'm such a sucker for it, time and time again - it's that little ear lift and gentle tilt to one side.

Thank you all for your warm welcome.
Tia has been here just over a week today and has already settled in just fine. I wouldn't be without her now that's for sure
