Diarrhoea
Hey all
Axl has diarrhoea he is fine in himself and doesn't seem to believe me when I tell him he's sick and can't eat. He's following me around waiting for his tea. Anyway his last bout of diarrhoea was at 6pm so do I starve him until 6pm tomorrow night? Also is rice water okay?

Re: Diarrhoea
Don't mean to be grim, but are his motions extremely loose - i.e water, or just soft/mushy? How many times has he been in the last 24 hours?

Well he went this morning and it was cow pat then I stupidly fed him and he went again this evening and it was watery. He didn't go inbetween this morning and this evening. Should I be worried!?

Re: Diarrhoea
Ah okay, yeah i'd starve him until tomorrow afternoon ish and then try him on some baked chicken/rice. You don't have to wait til 6, i'd feed a little earlier to ensure no accidents at bed time. Rice water is fine in the mean time if you're worried, but i'd say water would be alright for this eve. As long as there's no blood/mucus and he isn't dehydrated/appears fine in himself i'd just treat him as usual minus the food and reassess tomorrow.

Re: Diarrhoea
I would suggest starve overnight and plain chicken with rice tomorrow. As long as he's drink alright and eats tomorrow he should be fine.

Re: Diarrhoea
Okay rough night I woke up at 2am to his stomach making the most awful noises so I took him out and he just did a wee, his stomach was so loud though I took him back in and went to speak to the other half, when I went back to the living room Axl had sicked up a ball of grass which was fairly big and a lump of bark that was curled into a tube shape. After that his stomach stopped making noises and he is bright as a button following me around for food. I think he had a blockage. I will make sure I don't let him de-bark sticks anymore and no more grass eating so lucky he managed to sick it up.
