Help! Milo has diarrhoea to feed or not if so what?
Hi all my dh let me lay in this morning but when he came downstairs to the kitchen which is Milo's room there was poo literally everywhere up the walls, doors the lot My dh fed him his usual BARF food this morning which was chicken legs and wings which I was a bit cross about. He was so pooey I had to bath him and omg the smell was awfull Milo seems ok in himself really but not as perky as usual.
We were out at a kids party and he went to pick his brother and returned to find some more poopy bit and he was desperate to go out (been left about an hour and had no further episodes since this a.m.) The question is as he's fed a totally BARF diet what should we feed him? There used to be a thought that you should starve them but thet's swayed these days to keep feeding to work the bug through, what are your thoughts guys?
BTW I'm certain it's not food contamination as we get his food out frozen am for the pm and vice versa....however we were out on a dog walk with his play friend and both of them spend alot of their time in the water, most of it stagnent and some black bog areas too, he was bathed when we got home as he always is after these jaunts! Maybe he's contracted some bacterial infection?

IMO I would strave for 24 hours, then introduce some very bland food, cooked chicken and rice for a couple of days and then hopefully all will be back to normal
Poor thing they are such worry. Xx

well he's been starved since this morning as he's only fed am and pm but he has had another episode about 1/2 hour ago, poor little thing. Hubby is home tommorrow so can keep a close eye on him, I hope a vet visit won't be in order for all of our sakes.

Re: Help! Milo has diarrhoea to feed or not if so what?
Hi all, thanks
Today I took him on a play date with his friend as he seemed more or less ok, needless to say he had a great time with his pal Joy in the orchards He had a bit of loose poo on walk but he only had rice yesterday. Given him 2 gently scrambled eggs with his tea in the hope it will help bing him up a bit x

Give your dog some mashed pumpkin and then a spoon of honey.
