Help please Hair tearing moment
Hello anyone who replys.
I know every dog is different with training etc but my new pup poppy is taking so long i know she isonly 13 weeks but we had mika house broken by 8 and we are doing theexact same.
I have tried making crate smaller i use newspaper puppy pads all the useual things but nothing seems to work. Her bed is in the crate and she has space do to her business if she cant hold it in but she keeps doing it in the bed standing all over it lying in it i am washing her every day.
When i am at home i am taking her out every hour she goes outside most of the time she will do something praise her like mad for doing it outside. she is fed when we are at home so we can put her out a little bit after eating her water is stopped from 7pm at night she has herlast poo at 11 its just driving me mad i am doing all i can i even have tried spray to stop her doing it on her bed. Any other ideas would be much appreciated .

Re: Help please Hair tearing moment
have you tried rubbing the scent of her pee etc onto a puppy pad? .. may sound strage but its how i got vinnie to go on them, he would go anywhere but on them, so in the end i wiped his pad onto some pee he did on my floor! lol and placed it down he peed over it and continued to go to it, gradually we moved it closer to the door and then out and then he started sitting by the door to let us know he needed out.

I use this method as well. You can also use some grass from the pups favorite spot outdoors. If they go in their crate be sure to get rid of the smell before putting or letting thwm back in.

As soon as i notice she has done something i put her straight outside and completly disinfect her crate with a pet cleaner

Re: Help please Hair tearing moment
Letting her have a pad etc in her crate means that she can go to the toilet in her crate, personally i wouldnt put a pad in there as then if she goes on it in her crate she thinks oh yaay i did good i can go to the toilet in my sleeping area if that makes any sense?.
Try putting her matt by the back door with her scent on and maybe put her in the kitchen for a minute or two so she can sniff it out and see what she does

Well it seems you are on the right track. Suki would also lay in her own mess and if I didn't notice straight away she would try to come cuddle with me. We didn't get her completly housebroken until about 18 weeks. Maybe poppy just hasn't physically matured to the point that he can hold it for very long.

Re: Help please Hair tearing moment
We had this problem with our pup Cody (he's 13 weeks tomorrow). He would poop/wee in his bed and lie in it...like jstaff said, not nice when they want cuddles after
I found that the only way that we could stop Cody going in his crate was to take his bed out. He purposely weed and pooed on it so now that he doesn't have anything soft in his crate he waits until we let him out in the morning. Could be worth a try? Cody loves soft things and will purposely wee on them (including the duvet!) so for the moment we're keeping him away from all things nice and fluffy until we know he can hold on and has got the hand of going out side
