Been tearing my hair out!
My 16" circular needles arrived a few days ago, so I could finally get to work knitting some gloves! I spent ages trying to get it started but, try as I might, I couldn't get the required stitches to stretch around the needles! Finally gave up on the 16" and went back to the long ones to do the Magic Loop method instead. Whoever said it was difficult was lying through their teeth! Took me five minutes to learn it!
So I've gotten the cuff of my first glove sorted! I'm on my way!

I'll post a pic once the first glove is done. It's not very imaginative, though. I'm just focusing on getting the basic shape right before I go into fancy stitches and patterns.

Wasn't there a clip for how to do it on Youtube ? I usually find something there which is helpful

Re: Been tearing my hair out!
There were plenty, but none of them helped. Still not sure exactly what was going wrong with it. Each tutorial would specify to cast on a certain number of stitches, which I did, and space them evenly around the circular needles from point to point. The trouble was that the stitches wouldn't stretch far enough around - even at their limit, they'd only reach about an inch away from the end of each needle.
I'm finding the magic loop method much easier, anyway. Saves me from having to switch needle sizes all the time.
