puppy food
hi,i know there has been a lot of questions about puppy food.I just want to know what the best dry food is for my 6 month staff.
He has grown in height, but not really bulked up,he is about 14 kilo, but is not gaining weight too quickly.
I would like to put him on a good dry food, not too expensive, and not too windy, and dry stools. He is on pets at homes own advanced nutrition, but it is rather dear at £38 for 10 kilo.
any advice would be apprieciated

Re: puppy food
Pets at home's 'Wainwrights' range is good, as are 'Fish4Dogs', 'James Wellbeloved' and 'Orijen'. All are good foods, I havn't fed fish for dogs before but a friend does and it suits them really well.

Re: puppy food
Please don't forget that no amount of food will 'bulk' up your dog. Only his genes & a good exercise regime will do that.

Re: puppy food
I think you'll just have to wait for him to fill out in his own time. At 6 months he's just getting in to the gangly 'teenage' stage, and probably won't start to bulk up for another few months.

Re: puppy food
Carylls right, most staffords dont even start to bulk up and fill out until past a year old. A good diet and exercise regime will help to make your dog fitter and more muscular but at the end of the day his genetics and skeletal build/shape will determine how much he will fill out. Trying to push weight onto a dog will only result in it becoming fat, you need to keep them really fit and add in more food according to an increase in exercise.
