Hi

Just wanted some advice I've had my staffie since she was 8 weeks old and she has always gobbled her food as soon as we put it down for her.

Last Tuesday she had a worming tablet from the vet but ever since she hasn't been very excited about getting her food and when she does eat she'll only nibble a few bits and then walk off!

But she will eat if it's in her kong or if we hand feed her or put some cheese on it

She was on hills science plan complete dry food, we put her on JWB complete dry food last night but still the same problem

She is doing her "business" no problems

Is it an upset stomach from the worming tablet or is she just being a stubborn staff and not wanting to eat her normal food because she would rather have treats or attention?

Any ideas would be great

Thanks!!

The later imo! They can be stubborn with there food, but remember that they will neve let themselves starve. If she is eating. drinking, energetic and pooing as normal I wouldn't worry.

Mine is on JWB, and she will eat her breakfast, then only eat half her tea and vis versa. I add water or gravy sometimes just to make a change. I wouldn't be concerned though, the can be very head strong, even with food Xx

Hiya and welcome btw Smile

Hello & welcome.

If your pup is happy, alert & lively then I wouldn't worry too much, and I certainly wouldn't hand feed her!

I'd put her food down, leave it for, say, 15 minutes & then take it up again. Then put fresh down at next feed time, but with no treats etc in between (other than training rewards). I'm sure she'll start eating again soon!

All I'd add is that if, at any time, she appears to be not her normal self, or is sick etc, then give the vet a quick ring & ask their advice.

Agreed, they won't let themselves starve and can be quite stubborn. Since everything else is normal she is probally being stubborn.
