buddy's bald patch diagnosed Empty buddy's bald patch diagnosed

Buddy went to the vets last night and had a skin scrape and has demodex - I have to bath him in a wash every 5 days and take him back every 6 days for skin scrapes until it shows negative- bathed him last night and he was not impressed - had to have the cone of shame on to stop him licking - he would not lift his head off the floor with it on so funny... due back to vets next weds and then on Friday in to the kennels who have been great said they will still take him and do the bathing for me- probably wont be able to get the skin scrapes done but at least he can be bathed and get rid of it whilst I am away

apparently it may come back if he gets stressed in the future so need to make sure Buddy has a calm life- some hope- the dogs a lunatic !!

at least I now know what it is not cheap to treat but you have to do what you have to do...

I'll google demodex, i've never heard of it...It sounds like it's a fairly common problem...
I'm trying to desensitize my baby boy from the bathing/washing scenario..He is almost 9 weeks old but ive had him in the bath a couple of times with only the slightest amount of water at one end. Im in there with him btw...Yesterday he was actually splashing around in about 1cm of water over his feet, and i even poured a beaker of warm water on him, starting at his hind feet and continuing up his back..He seemed okay with it so i took him out of the bath and we had a fight with a bath towel!!
Fingers crossed Buddy will be A-okay in next to no time!

I hope buddy gets well soon, my cleo has just been diagnosed with it, there treating it with advocate and some sort of shampoo that helps to reduce the redness, so far no notacable results so far, I carn seem to find much on this treatment, you will have to let us know if it heals
