Re: Having beau spayed
Mark dnt worry the day before shes spayed they will tell u to completely starve her i didnt feed mia after 5 oclock on the day they will tell u to drop her off at 9am or earlier and the op and recovery time is 3.30pm they will get you to sign a consent form before beau goes in. When she comes out id advise a low car to take her home and no stairs if at all possible she may be groggy and out of sorts for 2 days and her walks for 2 weeks until she gets her stitches out should be on lead and easy . I prepared chicken for mia but she opted for dog food instead on the day shes had the op she might not eat anything just drink . The hardest part will be keeping her quiet and stopping her jumping on the couch .

Re: Having beau spayed
I agree with Crystal. Theia thought she was back to normal the next day. Short on lead walks, no jumping up, no stairs and no excitement is the key. Theia didn't even look at her stitches and I've heard about a few that didn't bother either. She'll be fine.

She'll be fine honest - its us mums and dads that suffer for them. She bounce back within a couple of days x The vet should give you some stuff to spray or dab on the stitches that tastes horrid.

Re: Having beau spayed
All good advice above Mark. It's a pretty straight forward op these days so shouldn't be a problem and Beau will bounce back reall quickly I'm sure.

Re: Having beau spayed
Have a look at the Comfy Collar instead of the cone of shame. So much less intrusive and better for your furniture too!
And Beau will be fine. You'll feel worse about it than she does!

She will be absoutely fine. Misty went in not too long ago-I was in tears saying goodbye but I had nothing to worry about. We picked her up at 3pm- she was still half out of it- a completly differnent little girl to normal. We took her to my mums house as its nearer the vets and we slept downstairs with her for over a week. She was very groggy and fought going to sleep until about 5pm. She woke up for dinner - plain chicken. Went back to sleep and then at 2am the next morning she was running about like nothing happened. She was trying to jump on us for kisses and just being her usual self. She was very good with her stictches- she never even tried to lick them. Like Crystal said the hardest thing is trying to calm her down and keep her quiet! She just wanted to run around like normal. We couldnt belive she had an op less than 24 hours ago. Beau will be back to normal in no time at all.
