Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
i personally wouldnt use them but i have customers that do and i have some strong pullers that i walk. the flexi maxi 8m is a strong one
Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
If you have a puller use the tape and not the cord. Marley has busted two that are meant for 50kg dogs... first time resulted in me loosing him for 45 mins second time it flew back and hit me in the face but I managed to run away and he chased me.
also the cord acts like cheese wire if you get it rubbing against you, have a few scars on my legs because of this
I know some people don't like them but when you have a couple of dogs that cant be off lead they are a god send. sometimes I look like a may pole when they get dancing around playing but when people are around I real them in to conventional lead length so that they arnt a nuisance.
Touch wood, the tape versions are standing up well to two nutball heavy pulling squirrel chasers.

Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
We have an old one called the flexi compact 3. It's served Floyd for 13 years and Theia for a year and still going strong. I think they're guaranteed for life against wear and tear.

Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
Thank you everyone for all you recommendations. Yes nathan he has a tendancy to run full pelt to the end some times and has knackered his current flexi. Thanks again x

Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
Could I just mention that a flexi lead is better used with a harness and not a collar, especially if you have a puller. When the dog takes off and gets to the end of the lead it is very possible for him to suffer whiplash if it is on a collar, which can be very painful.
I used to use the Giant all tape for Harry but stopped because I found
I couldn't reel him in with a flexi. I now use a lovely strong 20 foot
long lead I bought on Amazon (much much cheaper than flexi too) and I have learned the knack of looping and feeding it through my hand to give Harry full length but can pull him in very quickly if I need to.
Hope you find something suitable

Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
Thank you Lizzie yes he has his harness when on flexi or long lead with a bungee I can see how he would have a sore neck otherwise as he gets so excited and sprints to the end must hurt. Thanks gain

Marginally off topic, but if you do use a long line (or even a flexi lead) do be very careful where it is in relation to your fingers and thumbs. You can get serious injuries with lines wrapped round fingers when a dog pulls (says the person with only half a thumb on her left hand, line but not dog related).

Haven't done that yet Liz, but have got the long lead around my ankle once or
twice
With the variety of mishaps, injuries and bruises we all have you
would think we were 'dangerous sports' enthusiasts

Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
lol Liz i have half a finger missing on the left hand as well, old work mishap. Yeah got the cord twisted round a finger before agony but she has a habit of chewing through the flat tape one so the cord is better for us. She likes to grab it and jump up and down wee dafty.

Re: Recommendations on flexi lead
Yes be very careful - my 80 year old neighbour held her sons bouncy young labrador while he paid the carpark machine at a loval beauty spot. She's knows she was silly but she wrapped the line around her fingers, dog suddenly leaps to get to son & she ends up down the A&E with a badly dislocated index fingers pointing at right angles. She still can't bend it properly. And she was so looking forward to a nice walk.
