New rules for walking dogs
So our local Council are due to put in new rules for walking your dogs starting from June 15, link below:

What's your thoughts on it? Reasonable or not?

Re: New rules for walking dogs
A lot of the stuff is ridiculous as if ur dogs going to be off lead next to a road, or running in a park while kids are playing as for letting your dog off lead when theres a football match on someone obvioisly implemented these orders never had a dog or an ounce of common sense

Re: New rules for walking dogs
You'd be surprised! I regularly see people walking past my house (busy street) with their staffies off lead. A few weeks back, I seen a girl on a push bike with her staffie off lead running in front of her, again on a busy street! I don't get people sometimes.

I actually agree with some of the things they are saying. To be honest most of it is common sense anyway. Off lead on a busy road is just asking for trouble really.

I don't think they're all that daft either. The shame is that it sounds like there will be no off lead park areas. I hope there are good footpaths nearby that people can use instead.

well at least it gives some rules to limit the idiotic way some people behave with their dogs

Re: New rules for walking dogs
I saw a husky running down the Dual Carriageway today at rush hour not on a lead, owner a good 10m behind!
Most of them sound reasonable but then who is going to be there to enforce them? The park we walk Bane at has signs up saying all dogs to be kept on a lead at all times but the majority of dogs are off lead.
