odd behaviour question
Hi,
Ive got a question about Millie's behaviour when out walking.
We have noticed sometimes that she chops her teeth together. This tends to happen when she's over excited or when she knows we are on our way home and she's not impressed. The jaw will chops for quite a while until distracted.
What does this mean?
Happy Easter
Amanda

Re: odd behaviour question
Canine teeth grinding, called bruxism, can have many causes: pain in the dog's mouth, abnormalities of the jaw, stress and anxiety, or stomach pain. Regardless of the cause, the grinding can cause his tooth pulp to be exposed which can lead to infections, and painful tooth and gum issues.
A canine dentist can treat jaw abnormalities, extract painful teeth and address other oral or dental problems. If an examination rules out these issues, your veterinarian can prescribe anti-anxiety drugs to treat anxiety, stress or abdominal issues.

Re: odd behaviour question
Happy Easter to you too
I think you've kinda answered your own question there Amanda, she's showing her disapproval. Kita has a point and perhaps you should look at a vet visit if you see it as a problem, however, My Flo shows disapproval by dropping her stick well away from us so that we have to go fetch it and throw it again for her. This continues untill she's ready to go home
