any ideas what sore this is behind ear?
Someone reckoned a tick might have fell off. She's constantly scratching it. I have put antibacterial powder on it but not helping. She goes to vets Wed fre annual jab so is there anything i can do in meantime. Like are any type antiseptic creams for humans suitable. Or is there special stuff i can get, thanks.

Ooh looks sore keep it clean and show the vet. Need to be really careful with ticks if it is that, as the head can sometimes get left in and cause problems!

Thanks, gave it good clean was a bit weepy wi blood and put on antiseptic. Seems to have calmed her but now the cat wants to lick the antiseptic cream jeez.
The pic was close up looks a bit worse but yeah will get vet to check it out properly. Moved vets so she will be getting a once over as well when she goes..

Ah yeah ticks can be nasty if they aren't removed whole. I think any antiseptic cream will be fine Col but like Crystal says, wash with warm salted water first.

Re: any ideas what sore this is behind ear?
I second Savlon, that stuff is magic. Bo had a tick recently and even with the tick tweezers it left some of the head in - plus I had to dig in there to get out the bit I did, which caused a small graze. I put Savlon on the bump for three days, three times a day, and there was no redness and the swelling has completely gone. I use Savlon myself for cuts and things, it's brilliant.
Edit: Just remembered, kind of OT but last year I cut the entire end off my thumb whilst slicing tomatoes. Not the bone, but the entire tip right down to the bone. It fell on the floor and I thought, "Hmm, can't be arsed to go to A&E and it's too far anyway, so I'll just stick it back, slap some Savlon on it and wrap it in paper towel." Which I did. I put Savlon on for a week and now you can't even see the join. People think I'm kidding about this but I promise, it's true.

Turns out it ear an ear infection, she was in doggy stay over and the owner spotted her ear was gungy so they took her to the vets who gave her a jab to stop scratching and ear drops, back to my own vets yesterday for a check up and its just about cleared up now (£25 for Consulting oof)also booked her in for spaying in 3 weeks. oh and shes lost a pound already.

Re: any ideas what sore this is behind ear?
Ah well that explains the ear thing then Col. I'm sure she'll be fine with the spaying but the do worry us. Just remember to give her a little more TLC than normal afterwards.
