A Sore Eye
Hey all,
Yesterday Heston discovered that he can dig and after his afternoon nap he woke up with a big 'eye bogey' in his right eye. This morning he had a bigger bogey in his right eye and it looks redder in his lower lid area. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it at all (apart from when I used a eye wipe on it!). Is there anything I can do for him to stop it getting any worse or do I just let nature take its course?

Re: A Sore Eye
It could be conjunctivitus which will need a trip to the vets for some antibios, you can never be too cautious with eyes Xx

Re: A Sore Eye
Thank you guys, have just bathed his eyes with a salt wash whilst he was having a nap and will repeat again this evening. His eyes are clear apart from the little bit of gunk in the corner. If it continues into tomorrow i'll pop down the vets with him, the piglet is due for a weigh in anyway (12.5 KG's last Mon)!!!

Re: A Sore Eye
Instincts were spot on, took Heston to the vets this morning and he has Conjunctivitus. Pretty hard to tell as his eyes are already pink with him being white and the only other evidence was the 'eye bogeys' after his naps. He now has some antibiotic eye drops I have to administer alongside the eye wash i made up and she has shown me how to check his eyes properly for future reference. Caught just in time, the dog that came out of the vets room before us had a terrible green crusty eye
Heston's weigh in was 13 Kg this morning- definately going to be a big lad!

Re: A Sore Eye
Glad he's going to be ok.
I don't know if I've missed them, but I don't remember seeing any pics of Heston recently.......
